Description

Directions dyes are long lasting, rich dyes that work well on most hair types.

To to get the best results from Directions Plum dye we reccomend that you apply it to bleached or pre lightened hair. Directions dye can also be used to achieve a tint to untreated hair . Semi-permanent hair dyes usually last between 4 and 8 washes, this will depend on your hair type.

Quick Instructions:

Wash or wet your hair and pat dry
Apply Directions dye to your hair, spreading evenly with a tint brush or comb through
Allow to develop for around 15 - 30 mins
Rinse out the dye until the water starts to run clear

Always carry out a patch test on your skin first to make sure that Directions dye is suitable for you. We also suggest that you wear gloves and old clothes as directions dye can stain.

I've had a pot of this in a cupboard that I bought 8+ years ago. It's STILL good and works perfectly.
I like that this colour (at least my old Plum one) fades to a nice, even lavender tone. It's not pink as it fades, nor is it overly blue. The longer you leave it in, the longer it really does stay in the hair. I've left it in overnight on strands and had it stay vibrant in my unbleached hair for months, and no harm to the hair of course. It's really very mild stuff.
I've used brands that are far more pigmented upon application but I prefer the fade out colour of this particular shade.

Recently had the ends of my (black) hair lightly bleached and have been using the plum on top - gives it a lush, 'dip dye' look and have had heaps of compliments. Subtle but noticeable.

So my shower is now purple... wasn't expecting that. My hair looks lovely though and I've had lots of compliments at work. Never dyed my hair before so I did expect a few problems with application! I've washed it three times now and it still turns everything purple but the colour does seem to be staying on my hair nicely as well. I have dark brown hair which I didn't treat beforehand and it still managed to show up quite nicely. More blue than advertised. Would definitely buy again (maybe get it applied to my hair professionally in a salon!!!)

Covers darker hair too (I had dip dye, ginger and blonde) only prob is colour comes out a lot bluer than shown.
