Arctic Fox vs Manic Panic

Arctic Fox Hair Dye vs Manic Panic

Most of us at one time or another have experimented with fantasy hair colors, but perhaps like us, you’re always wondering which brand is actually the best. What do other people choose to use when they change their hair from emerald green to turquoise – and why? What is it that makes them choose one brand over another?

Comparing Manic Panic and Arctic Fox Hair Color Dyes

It’s actually tough to tell the difference between Arctic Fox and Manic Panic hair colors, but in this article, we’re going to break it down so that you can make an informed decision when you choose your next glorious hair color.

For starters, if you know your hair is very porous, meaning that it absorbs dye really well – then releases it quickly – we recommend that you choose Arctic Fox.

Manic Panic

If your hair is normal – not porous or damaged – and you’re considering trying a range of colors, then we suggest you try Manic Panic hair dye.

This was our first choice because it seemed to be what everyone else was using, especially on Instagram, where many people were trying out different shades of Manic Panic hair dye. So, of course, not wanting to be left out, my friend and I uploaded a few of our own happy snaps, merely loving the beautiful effects of these unique but fantastic hair colors.

But then we began to notice that the color started washing out much more quickly, and we began to feel discouraged. We later discovered that this is normal when using semi-permanent hair colors, but at the time, we wondered if maybe there had been a change in Manic Panic’s formula. After making inquiries, we discovered that no there had been no change in their hair dye formula. So, what was different?

It seemed that our hair had changed, which we now know is a normal reaction. After bleaching our hair and repeatedly dying it, things were starting to catch up with us. We now had extremely porous hair, which meant that it quickly absorbed the dye, but then it faded very quickly. So what did we do? We dyed our hair again!

Arctic Fox

Then we heard about Arctic Fox hair dye and decided to give it a go. What a difference! Ten shampoos later, and the color was still intact.

Arctic Fox is a do-it-yourself long-lasting direct dye with gorgeous grape-scented conditioning. Containing no harsh chemicals, drying alcohols, or PPDs, all Arctic Fox products are manufactured from natural ingredients. It took two full years of research and development to create this highly pigmented color formula specifically designed to bleed and stainless. Ultimately, the colors will fade, but not equally.

The colors within the Arctic Fox formula have been designed to fade within the original color spectrum, which means that, as the color lightens, the shades continue as the beautiful tones you originally wanted. And the bonus is that when you use Arctic Mist, their diluter, you can create lighter tones and pastels easier and more accurately than ever before.

Arctic Fox hair colours contain absolutely no harsh chemicals as vegan and cruelty-free products, which means that these products have been designed to maintain your healthy hair.

Hair Dye Brand Comparison Results

It’s probably apparent by now that both of these hair dyes do the same thing, so what is it that makes one better than the other? The answer is that it depends on your hair. So let’s have a closer look at the main differences between Manic Panic and Arctic Fox.

The following information will help you choose the right brand for your hair so you can keep coloring your hair with beautiful and exotic shades, knowing that you’re using the right product for your hair type.

The Main Differences between Manic Panic and Arctic Fox

In this section, we will determine which brand is the best product for your hair type. It’s important to point out that both hair dyes are semi-permanent, vegan friendly, and peroxide and ammonia-free.

What Does Semi-Permanent Mean?

The Similarities: A semi-permanent hair dye will not alter your hair’s natural color – it actually deposits a new color. This might explain why dark hair should be bleached before dying it pastel or a bright color.

Obviously, if you’ve got blond hair, there’s no need for you to bleach your hair. And because it’s a semi-permanent dye, your hair color will start fading after a few washes.

The Differences: While both are semi-permanent hair dyes, we found that Manic Panic faded much quicker. For us, we found this to be good quality because we were experimenting with pastel colors. Manic Panic is a gentle formula that doesn’t dry out your hair.

If your hair is very porous, we strongly recommend using Arctic Fox because it tends to fade less quickly.

Crazy Colour UK Hair Dye

A third option is Crazy Color hair Dye. It’s been a very popular brand for 40 years in the UK.
